Wolves Martial Arts (previously Wolves Taekwondo) was established in 1993 by Master Instructor Andrew Johnston. In 2013, the club celebrated a milestone of 20 years teaching martial arts. Wolves Martial Arts has a family friendly atmosphere, where past and present students have learnt valuable life skills they can use in everyday life from learning the martial arts of Taekwondo and Haidong Gumdo. Our club has grown enormously due to our commitment to our customer service, and the professional programs we offer to our members.
For the juniors, we offer age specific martial arts classes called the Ninja Wolf Pack (ages 5-8 years) and Commando Wolves (9-12 years) that specialise in focus and concentration. In these classes, they learn the benefits of group participation that help them understand behavioral boundaries in a fun supportive atmosphere of respect and courtesy.
For the teenagers and adults, we offer Senior Programs (ages 10 years to 65 years) that are high energy traditional Taekwondo and Haidong Gumdo martial arts programs. These programs are designed to get mind and body into shape, as well as learning how to protect yourself with self-defence techniques.
No experience necessary
No, you don’t need martial arts experience, or have a high level of fitness to start Taekwondo or Haidong Gumdo. All our programs are specifically graded on the level or experience of the participant, so beginners can feel comfortable to train at their own fitness level in the appropriate class format.
2 FREE lessons
Wolves Martial Arts runs Taekwondo classes five nights a week, and Haidong Gumdo classes three nights a week, at five different locations throughout the Blue Mountains. To help you decide if you like Taekwondo or Haidong Gumdo, we offer the first two lessons FREE, as we want you to find out if you like these martial arts, and help you gain new friends, confidence, fitness, concentration, self-defence techniques and lots more. If you need more information, check out the New Students Enquiries page.

Come on and discover the fun and exciting martial arts of Taekwondo and Haidong Gumdo!
Taekwondo is a Korean martial art. The word “Taekwondo” derives from “Tae” meaning foot, “Kwon” meaning fist, and “Do” meaning ‘the art of’ or ‘the way’. The main benefit of Taekwondo is its availability to all ages and both sexes. In our club, we encourage families to train and have fun together.
Haidong Gumdo is an elegant and powerful ancient Korean Sword martial art that offers a solution to the stress of modern day life. Through learning physical training, etiquette, self control, meditation and internal breathing exercises, Haidong Gumdo will help you to improve your physical and mental health.
All our Instructors are highly motivated, experienced and are led by former National Champion, Master Instructor Andrew Johnston.
